About DUST University
Who are we?
DUST University is player run corporation in Eve Online, a single shard, persistent gaming universe, set 20,000 years into the future. The game has now over 20 years of history and boasts one of the most dedicated and diverse communities in the history of gaming.
DUST 514
In 2009, CCP Games, the publishers of Eve Online, announced DUST 514. A first person shooter set in the New Eden universe of Eve Online but connected to Eve Online in real time. It launched in 2013 on the Playstation 3. It continued until May 2016.
A new DUST 514?
CCP Games have never given up on the concept of having a First Person Shooter set in and connected to the New Eden universe, and It has seen many iterations during its development. The DUST 514 community have jokingly referred to it as Project Redacted, due to CCP's reluctance to talk much about it, other than confirming its continued development at their London Studio.
EVE Vanguard
In September 2023, during their Fanfest player gathering held each year in Reykjavik, Iceland, CCP announced Eve Vanguard.
A new chapter in the history of the mercenary Warclones, Vanguard is a sandbox style shooter on the planets of New Eden.
It will be an expansion of Eve Online and part of the older games launcher, with players given a new character slot to be used in Vanguard. Play and stress tests scheduled for November 2023, with its launch being part of the upcoming Havoc expansion for Eve Online.
